This batch of comics kind of ends on a “sad note,” but I think that, as far as open endings go, the potential direction is a positive one.
D9es Trey need to suppress his talents in order to continue living a selfless life? I don’t think a spirit of generosity is born or sustained by weakness. You can be strong and bring happiness to others.
On the other hand, if Trey can find his thing, the snail-farming father can probably find a way to keep thriving. Whether he remains a snail farmer or not remains to be seen. Chances are, he already has a plan, even if his daughter doesn’t know. People are often stronger than you think.
Anyway, these are the kinds of things you think about in July, when snail season is over. It’s a time to move fast, without looking back. August is right around the corner.
